Overview

Visit Devon and enjoy the very best of the autumn harvest with a cider making workshop at the Courtney’s orchards, including lunch.

Courtney’s produce around 6,500 litres of cider and 10,000 litres of apple juice each year.

Courtney's Apple Pressing and Cider Making Experience is run in association with Vigo Presses. If you want to make the most of your fruit, using the resources from your own back garden, allotment or friends and family, this experience day is for you.

Stroll through the orchards for a first-hand look at orcharding and to learn a little bit about the best apple varieties for juice and cider. You’ll pop into the barn to learn about the history of pressing and cider making as well as about our mission to reduce food waste. Then its time to get hands on picking, washing, milling and pressing apples to make some juice of your own. Our unique tasting session will reveal the incredible differences between processed and fresh apple juices, and how different apples can completely change the flavour.

As you sip on delicious mulled apple juice, you’ll learn how to take your new apple-pressing skills to the next level and how to make some cider of your very own at home. Wandering the orchard can be hungry work, so a delicious lunch is included in your experience.
