For use in cider-making to subdue some wild yeasts and bacteria and reduce the likelihood of cider spoilage. The tablets can also be dissolved in water to produce a sterilising solution for cleaning fermentation equipment and for use when rinsing bottles.

Add 1 crushed Campden Tablet to each gallon of wine / cider at the end of fermentation to prevent oxidation and bacterial contamination during bottling and syphoning.

A sterilising solution may also be made from 5 crushed tablets in 1 pint of hot water.
